Activity Highlights for Summer and Fall 2010
August 1 - Olympic Music Festival in Quilcene. Enjoy the idyllic surroundings of an 1890’s dairy farm. The festival artists will delight audiences with their chamber music program Haydn, Shostakovich & Mendelssohn.
August 2 - Piano, Four Hands! at the Panorama Auditorium at 7:30pm. Classical pianist Robert Jorgensen and guest artist Paul Michael Edwards will provide an evening of remarkable music!!
August 6 - The K-Pan Players present a flashback to the 40’s, “Easy Aces” a NEW production from our radio course “On the Air” in the Panorama Auditorium at 7:00pm.
August 7 - Browns Point Salmon Bar-B-Q at the Browns Point Lighthouse on the shoreline of the Puget Sound. Salmon, still cooked over an open alder wood fire, corn, salad, roll and beverage are included.
August 8 - Aida presented by Kids @ Play. Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida is a modern crowd pleaser that features exuberant dancing, staging and singing.
August 22 - Music in McGandy Park presents the Ceremonial Navy Band at 2:00pm. Seating is provided or bring your own lawn chair. Invite your friends and family.
August 23 - Celtic Britain. Learn about life in Britain at the time of the Roman invasion. 7:00pm in the Panorama Auditorium.
August 27 - Late Summer Night’s Games enjoy a bicycle poker run, bocce ball, croquet, ladder ball and table games, plus BBQ fare and entertainment by the Tarentellas.
August 30 - Food 2 B Fit 11:30am in the Chambers House Garden Room. Join Melissa Thoemke as she discusses the importance of beta-carotene in your diet and Meggin Turk as she prepares whole wheat pasta with butternut squash, beet greens and mushrooms. More...
September 2 - Beginning Watercolor Class. This 4-week course will provide you with basic instruction in watercolor techniques.
September 2 - Golf Clinic. Perfect your swing with tips from Kevin Bishop, golf pro at 1st Tee of Olympia. 10:00am in McGandy Park.
September 4 - Harbor Days. Vintage, working and retired tugboats are moored at Olympia’s Percival Landing & open for tour.
September 4 - Seattle Mariners vs. the Boston Red Sox. Join us at Safeco Field for another exciting game!
September 4 - Seattle “POPS” presents Live & Let Die: A Tribute to Paul McCartney at Benaroya Hall.
September 16 - Ron Bates Trio entertains at the Birthday Dinner.
October 2 - ACT Theater presents “The Lady with All the Answers.” Bus leaves at noon.
October 2 - Sweet Adelines. The all women’s a cappella chorus performs at the Minneart Center.
October 8 - Oktoberfest in the Chamber House Restaurant. Sauerkraut, bratwurst and beer. You’ll love the German cuisine and the great polka music. Gemuetlichkeit!
October 8 - Olympia Symphony Orchestra presents “3 For 10” at the WCPA. Bus leaves at 6:15pm.
