Being located in a university town that is adjacent to the State Capitol, Panorama’s community members enjoy a variety of arts and cultural facilities and events. One of the premiere venues, The Washington Center for the Performing Arts, offers a full season of performances by national and international touring groups, including music, dance, theater, and family entertainment. At the end of any performance, you might find the Panorama bus waiting at the theater’s front entrance, ready to greet the residents boarding for their 15-minute ride home.
Panorama is conveniently located midway between Seattle to the north, and Portland, Oregon to the south. Both cities offer varied and vivid cultural and arts programs. Of course you will find our community members attending these exciting offerings; our Panorama buses go to the many museums, theaters and concert halls in the area throughout the year.
Arts and culture are thriving on the Panorama campus as well. Panorama residents organize and run their own choir; drama group; painters', weavers' and potters' studios and readers' theater. The free Monday Night Programs feature some of the finest talent in the region, while the Birthday Dinner and Supper Club feature monthly concerts with a great meal in Panorama’s own Chamber House Restaurant.
How important are the Arts to Panorama residents?
They planned, financed and built a brand new auditorium, opened in 2009, that provides more space for performers on stage and accommodates a larger audience.
